STRETCH: Creative Spark, Dundalk presents an exhibition of work from the

Creative Spark Residency Programme 2017 | 12th October - 4th November. Creative Spark Residency Programme Exhibition 2017 (funded by Create Louth) with supporting exhibition of work by Creative Spark Print Studio members.

The artists involved in the 2016 - 2017 Programme at Creative Spark were Michael Stafford (Louth); Thomas Brezing (Dublin); Olga Danilova (Russia); Chiara Leto & Giulia Vetri (Italy) and Hazel Egan (Dublin)

The exhibition will bring together new works completed during the residency programme in the medium of printmaking, mixed media and painting.

Current Artist-in-Residence

Hazel Egan is Creative Spark’s Artist-in-Residence from August to October. Hazel graduated from the Limerick School of Art and Design in 2014 with a First Class Honours BA in Printmaking and Contemporary Practice. Since finishing college she has been working to develop her practice as a visual artist, She has exhibited nationally and internationally.
In 2015 she attended a week long masterclass in Ballinglen Arts Foundation with the Dutch artist Arno Kramer. There she focused on contemporary drawing. Later in the year she was awarded the emerging Irish Artist Residency Award by the Burren College of Art and the 126 Gallery. She also won the F15 & AIB People’s Choice Award at the Foundation 15 Arts Festival in Tullamore and recently received a prize at Impressions Book Art 2016 exhibition in Galway.
Having focused on graphite drawing and installation for awhile she is excited to return to printmaking. Hazel enjoys all print process however, etching, aquatint, and blind emboss are her preferred techniques. Hazels aim for the coming months is to research and create a new body of graphite drawings. She then hopes to translate them into prints and to produce editions and handmade books. The final pieces, she hopes, she would be interested in exhibiting work in Dundalk throughout the residency and to provide print and bookbinding workshops for children.
