The residency programme will award up to five residencies to visual artists each year. Residencies will be of 2 to 3 months in duration (commencing Jan 1 2018 to December 31st 2018). Residencies will be offered to a selection of artists from Louth (originally from/ living in), Ireland (Nationwide) and International artists.
Residencies fall into two types and these may also overlap:
1. Residencies to support artists wishing to develop or extend the boundaries of their own professional and technical skills and/or practice. It is envisaged that two residencies would fall within this category.
2. Residencies to support artists to lead engagement with places / people / industry / groups / communities or landscapes in Louth (to be suggested or identified by the artist in their proposal). It is envisaged that three residencies would fall within this category.
The recipient artist will be required to give demonstrations and provide talks on their practice during their residency and donate one piece to Creative Spark archives. The residency should include a community participation element and may conclude with an exhibition of the recipients work locally.
