Aluminium salt etching uses sodium chloride and copper sulphate to produce deep black tonal qualities in the plate akin to an aquatint. This is an experimental course combining traditional and digital printmaking techniques to achieve surprising and unique results. You will explore resists made of various materials to achieve a range of tone, texture and depth in the prints. The course will use hand drawn imagery, mark making and textures
All materials are provided but a high-contrast, digital image, drawing, sketch, photograph... to work from will be required
This master class also includes , evening artist talk, a studio highlight, and a demo/talk session, covering the full day on Friday.

Gold Foil Screenprinting: Dundalk artists Aoife Edwards & Colleen Eilís Murphy will host a one-hour demo of their process of screenprinting gold foil. Attendees will learn how to make their own gold foil prints.
Aoife is also a psychotherapist, as well as an artist her screenprints are recognisable for their bold, painterly style.
Colleen creates illustrative prints featuring hand-drawn elements.
