Creative Spark Enterprise FabLab would like to invite you to visit us for our Open Lab event on the evening of Wednesday, 4th December. Our theme for this event, reflecting our focus for the coming year, is Commercialisation, Entrepreneurship and Future-proof Skills. At the event you will have the chance to engage with our staff, high-end digital fabrication equipment and ways of working.

We will have Peter Gilleece, CEO of Vikela, demonstrating their multi-award winning, 3D printed stab protection vests and ballistic armour. Vikela have developed an innovative 3D printing technique, using their propriety base material to produce custom-fitted protection.  Currently being adopted by police, military and civilians internationally, their product has found a market fit that meets an underserved need for protection designed for women.

At the event you will have the opportunity to explore how technology in the lab is leveraged to create bespoke innovative products that can support local manufacturing, sustainability and upskilling.
