Creative Spark Enterprise FabLab Showcases Irish Innovation at Fab24

Creative Spark Enterprise FabLab Showcases Irish Innovation at Fab24 Mexico’s Fabricating Equity Conference

Creative Spark Enterprise FabLab proudly represented Ireland at the recent Fab24 Mexico conference, Fabricating Equity, organised by IDIT Institute of Design and Technological Innovation and the Fab Foundation. The global event provided a platform for FabLab's from around the world to display their work, share insights, and international collaboration.

Enterprise FabLab had the opportunity to highlight its innovative projects and connect with global peers, strengthening its position as a leader in sustainable social enterprises through FabLab education and innovation.

One of the key highlights of FabLab's participation was celebrating Ireland’s First Fab Academy Graduate Ryan Reilly (@nopurposeindie). Ryan became the first @fabacademy graduate from an official Fab Academy node in Ireland. This milestone achievement was a proud moment for Enterprise FabLab, reflecting the growth of FabLab education in Ireland.

Oscar Diaz, representing Enterprise FabLab, delivered a compelling FabBlast talk titled "Exploring a Sustainable Model for a FabLab: The Role of Irish Social Enterprises" during the Future-Proof symposium. Oscar’s presentation emphasised the critical role of social enterprises in driving sustainable innovation, highlighting how FabLab's can contribute to a more equitable future.

The talk was hosted by Creative Spark and supported by Enterprise Ireland.

In addition, Enterprise FabLab hosted a workshop titled "Crafting Inclusive Learning Activities: Integrating Educational Models in FabLab Education". Aimed at STEAM practitioners, teachers, and educational facilitators, the workshop offered practical insights into integrating inclusive learning models into FabLab education.

The Fab24 Mexico conference proved to be a productive and inspiring event for Enterprise FabLab. The team is looking forward to participating in Fab25, which will be held next year in the Czech Republic.
