Culture Night 2021 is right around the corner, and Creative Spark is delighted to be involved! Celebrating the beautiful history and heritage of Dundalk there are a number of events for you to get involved in!
What is Culture Night?
Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir is a national moment, celebrating all that makes up the richness and diversity of Culture in Ireland today, connecting people to cultural activities locally and nationally and aims to open up pathways to ongoing engagement.
An annual, all-island public event which takes place each year on the third Friday of September, Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir celebrates culture, creativity and the arts and seeks to actively promote the belief that this rich and varied culture is alive, treasured and nurtured in people’s lives, today and every day. AAEX Event for Culture Night
AAEX (Art as Exchange) are celebrating their 5th anniversary with a 3-day art festival at St. Helena Park in Dundalk. The AAEX Flamingo will make an appearance again as well as the AAEX Block Puzzle, created for this year’s SEEK Festival, alongside a variety of new art installations, workshops and demonstrations for all ages. The 3-day festival will be kicked off by a Culture Night event called ‘Awash with Colour’, on Friday 17th September, 6 pm, at which AAEX and the Monaghan Poets and Song Writers Group (MOPOSOGS) present artworks and recitals of poems, prose and songs from a collaboration in which visual artists responded to texts by writers and vice versa.
