This week Creative Spark was delighted to host and particiapate in the 3D Printing Challenge – Taiscéalaí (Explorer) event!
The Enterprise FabLab @ Creative Spark has a defined ambition to stimulate Enterprise, Creativity, Innovation and Education in the North-East region. With support from Inspire 3D and Enterprise Ireland, we are excited to be able to lend, an Ultimaker 3D printer to primary schools in the North-East region to enable them to participate in the 3D Printing Challenge – Taiscéalaí (Explorer), in partnership with IMR and i-Form.
What is the 3D Printing Challenge - Taiscéalaí?
Taiscéalaí is a 3D Printing Challenge, geared toward children from 2nd to 6th class. It is an accessible, innovative 8-week program that motivates young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills.
Taiscéalaí presents 2 exciting themes - to ignite creativity. Children begin the exploration of a theme, they investigate a challenge related to the theme and design a solution. Using TinkerCAD students build a digital 3D model of their solution. The teacher then helps students to 3D print their designs on the 3D printer.
Schools will showcase their work at a Celebration Event in Creative Spark, Dundalk by explaining what they have learned about the theme and the reasons behind the models they have printed. The Celebration Event boosts children confidence and is a celebration of their amazing achievements.
This programme is available to all schools in the North-East region. If you would like to register for your school to participate please compete the following form.
Registration now open for:
